2015 Remembrance field

 

This selection of images pays tribute to the Remembrance Field lovingly tended by Fay Helwig and delivered to the community every November until 2018. First established in 1996, the Remembrance Field was planted to honour the memory of those young men who never made it home following World War 1. Over time, the field has become a tribute to the fallen in all wars. The Flanders Poppy has been a long time symbol of remembrance, and to see them en-mass, representing springtime on the disturbed grounds of the Western Front battlefields, was a spectacle not to be missed.
