As a boy, in 1919, Jack came with his parents and sister Linda to take up a Soldier Settlement block at Amiens. It was true pioneering, very different from their previous lifestyle. First they lived in a bark humpy, before building a home, and went through the hard times of the depression.
Achieving My Goal is Jack’s story from that time until the present. Jack is described as “a man of the land, observant, practical and a bush gentleman”. He retired from the country to Brisbane and found an interest and relaxation in writing.
