As a boy, in 1919, Jack came with his parents and sister Linda to take up a Soldier Settlement block at Amiens. It was true pioneering, very different from their previous lifestyle. First they lived in a bark humpy, before building a home, and went through the hard times of the depression.

 

As a boy, in 1919, Jack came with his parents and sister Linda to take up a Soldier Settlement block at Amiens. It was true pioneering, very different from their previous lifestyle. First they lived in a bark humpy, before building a home, and went through the hard times of the depression.

 

Jack is described as “a man of the land, observant, practical and a bush gentleman” who retired from the country to Brisbane and found an interest and relaxation in writing. Achieving My Goal is Jack’s story from that time until the present.
