Through the voices of young men and women poets of World War I, the author/artist has created a unique narrative – The Journey That is War. The book title THE DRAGON SINGS is taken from an evocative poem by Siegfried Sassoon; it sets the context for the ensuing narrative.

Two symbols bind the narrative: the dragon – as ancient as recorded history, symbolising chaos and destruction coupled with renewal, rebirth and hope and the modest little Flanders poppy – first to bloom across the fields of Europe in the aftermath of chaos and destruction.
